Hi endorteather,

Thank goodness you have your coop account sorted and also your date.

Try filling the forms in online, if you dont have the link have a look at my blog its on there.

Good luck and ask away.

I have only today started to tell my creditors when they ring and they usually say "ok thanks for letting me know" and put the phone down - its a really weird feeling after all the hassle i have been getting.

I suppose it depends how brave you are feeling when they ring

I have been thinking exactly the same thing - but just went for it today and told them (my thoughts were even if it went belly up, id still be buying myself some time). Im just very cynical though.

Im not sure if and what creditors may be able to do if thats what you mean, sorry

Hi Moneyworries,
thanks for your reply, i was talking to a friend who knows someone who had a letter from the bailiffs to say they would be coming to the house on a stated date, he then got a date for BR, phoned the bailifs office and told them, they said ok we will put your file to one side and let us know how you get on, maybe one of the experts will be along soon and shed more light on this.

Hi end of tether,

We told our creditors of our intention from just less than 2 months before our BR. They didn't have time to do anything serious and the worst we got was a default notice. We found it stopped them hassling us as much. Most just asked for the date of our BR and said they'd be in touch then. A couple said they'd still ring every few days but that was fine too, and it made it easier when they did phone. We just said 'check your notes' and they usually even apologised for ringing!

Hi BankruptC,
Thanks for your reply, i must say you have put my mind at rest, it's bad enough going through BR, without the nasty phone calls which i find must be bordering harassment, which there is a law against ( although i am no expert ),

Thanks.

Hi Endorteather,

I on the other hand told no one, i did ask my credit companies to allow me 2 months to et myself sorted then i would be in contact again, in that time which was around 6 weeks we had our court date, but i still did not tell them not until we came out of the court.
I am a worrier and until i had the piece of paper to back up what i had informed them (If i had told them my intentions of going BR) and i would have panicked if it had not gone though.
Good luck, and take care.

hi
i told my creditors about 2months before my br date and most of them said just let us know when it has gone through which i did and i must admit i kind of enjoyed telling the one creditor who had still kept pestering me with phone calls, mostly i found it stopped a lot of hassle from the creditors
