hi,

recently bankrupt and now had an interview with the official receiver.

firstly i'd like to say how nice and polite everybody at the court and offical receiver's office has been during this crap period of my life.

but secondly - at the interview the man was using a set of guideline figures from 2006. since we are not far off 2009 i asked him if this was correct and he said 2006 was the most recent guidelines he had - is this right? surely there must be something more recent than that to work out expenditure!!

also thirdly - my 18 year old daughter lives at home and has this week started university. i feel it is reasonable for me to include her as a dependant but the official receiver did not!!! - what do you think?

and lastly - this is a great site and over the past couple of months you and everybody else have really helped me to change things around so a big thank you cos i'm not so sure what would have happened to me if i had let things continue as they were.

regards
bg

Hi Bang up

I can see where the OR is coming from being 18 she is classed as an adult and so can in there eyes look after herself but i dont know how they come to that conclusion, maybe one of the others will know more, but each OR have a different view on the things we put down on our I&E. Let us know how you get on if you try and pursue it.

As for the help the site has given you i would like to say a very large
"Your welcome" without this site i would not be where i am today.

Good luck mate

If you were paying child maintenance it would stop at 18 when they start university so 'm assuming they are using those guidelines here. After all, she will get student loans in her own right.
