Hi Just wondering if anyone knows what happens to joint accounts ( i have a joint account with my wife, for bills & mortgage) My wife is not going bankrupt, however does anyone know what happens to that account. It has not got £1000's in its just for day to day bills.
you should remove your name from the account prior to declaring bankruptcy. This way the account would not be frozen when bankruptcy is declared and your funds remain readily available for your use.
Thanks for your swift reply, i am going to court this Friday (does it look a bit suspicious if i remove myself from the joint account only a few days before i go BR)

I had a joint account with Nationwide, and they didnt freeze it, the liability of the debt was just handed over to my Mum, i was only £200 in my overdraft....so now ive been discharged ive just paid off the overdraft and i am using the account again.
Maybe just check with the bank, whether they will actually freeze it or not, as they didnt freeze my one.
