Hi

I have recieved the paperwork from the OR which amoung other things is asking for 12 months bank and card staements. Question is what if you can't provide them? I only have about the last 3 or 4 months.
What are other people having to or managing to supply?

Thanks in advance

D

Hi rombonie ,

Dont worry about not having the requested items , just forward what you have got and if the OR wants the others he/she can get them direct from your creditors .
I only provided either 1 or 2 months of my 5 credit card statements and there was certainly no reprimand .
Hope this helps ,

Andy

Hi Rombonie

I agree with Digman, send what you have and just explain to the OR that this is all you have.

They can get hold of anything they need directly from the creditors, so i would not worry.

Take care

Thank you both

One other thing that I wasn't ready for was being asked if I wanted them to arrange for collection of one of our cars to be scrapped or did we want to make an offer??

any thoughts

cheers D

What did you want to do about the 2nd car, did you want to keep it.

Can you make an offer from a 3rd party.

yep really was looking to keep it as it is the wife's car really, which went wrong and can't we afford to fix it right now but still would not wish to see it go to scrap for what i guess would amount to a £50 contribution to the hole.
Would the wife be a third party and would £50 be an unreasonable offer do you think?

thanks again D

Hi Rombonie

Was it both of oyu that went BR. If it is then a 3rd party like your mum or a brother can make the offer.

Whats the car worth? Is there any way that you can get a valuation, then make an offer to the OR about keeping the car.

If they are gonna scrap it then anything is worth a try.

its in the wife's name but due to a cockup at dvla it shows me as the keeper back in march for one day and the wife since then. Do you think they really should have any interest in it really?

Hi!

Sorry to jump in on this thread - I am in a similar situation with my car and am concerned about what the OR may do with it.

I currently own the car, it is a Mark 4 Golf with 113,000 miles and needs some work doing on it (about £500 worth of work) and it is worth probably about £500. I currently use it for work but I am due to finish work in Jan. and go abroad for 1 year.

It has been suggested that I sell the car to someone I know, say a family member or a friend, and continue to use it until I go. Would the OR allwo me to sell it to someone I know and still use it?

If I just keep it, when I go BR in Jan. is the OR likely to take it off me for scrapping, or would they let me sell it myself for living costs?

Hi

you can sell the car - provided it is not at under value - to anyone.

However if you went Br early Jan and left the country at the end of jan for Canada it is unlikely that they will let you have either the car or the money from the sale because you don't need ot to go to work.

Hi Paul!

Thanks for your reply!

So if I was to sell it to say my sister, or housemate, for what it is worth (taking into account the work which it needs doing), what documentation would I need to keep for the OR? A receipt of the purchase? A Parkers valuation? A quote for the cost of repairing the car?

Would I not need to then give this money to the OR when I do go BR in Jan.? I may need that money for BR fees, living costs and I need to have £500 to enter Canada.

Sorry for complicating things (as usual!).

Hi

give me a call and i will go over them again so you get the timeline right.

there is no reason why you can't sell your asset to pay for br fees. It is 495 after all.
