I am declaring myself bankrupt and have a hearing next wednesday. It had just occured to me that I have a Canadian passport so I am wondering whether this will be an issue? I have a UK residency stamp in there and I have lived in the UK since I was 4 years old, I have a National Insurance number and pay tax. Does anybody know if this will be an issue?
The Canadian passport will not be an issue so don't worry.
re your other post you will need to miss 3 mortgage payments before the creditor starts posession proceedings so in theory it could be at least 5 / 6 months before one would have to leave.
enough time not to rush.

when you eventually go the Brighton it is not too bad - on William Street just down from the American Express building.
You have to wait upstairs on 1st floor until the clerk is ready then you are led into a small room to go through the forms and check for errors. You swear an oath and pay the fee over.
You then have to wait in a dark / dreary room for the judge.
Afterwards the forms are available downstairs at the main counter in around 25 minutes.
Please remember don't rush - far too much to do.
