if the creditors contact me while im trying to get the money together to go bankrupt is it worth informing them that i am in the process of going bankrupt or is it best to keep quiet?also if its best to tell them and they ask if i can make a small payment is wise doing this to keep them happy or would it be frowned upon at court?thanks for any help in advance.still very unsure about the ins and outs of bankruptcy and what to do for the best.
you should not make any payments unless you are able to pay all creditors on a pro rata basis.
There is no way of knowing how much pressure the creditors will use between now and your BR. In my experience it's not a definite no no to tell creditors of your intentions but likewise I've seldom seen it do much good.
If I were you I would say nothing until you know you are no more than a couple of weeks from your court appointment.
I agree with John, i stopped paying all my creditors 2 months before the BR and i did NOT inform them at all that this was my intention.
It is up to you, but i would not say anything until you have a def date so they can log it if they want to.
Best of luck
