Hi
yes a serving police office can petition for their own bankruptcy.
There is a special procedure to follow and a slightly different way of filling one section of the forms but the answer is yes.
i have helped a number of officers through the process over the last 6 months and all have retained their positions. i have also been able to withold the advert on 4 occasions due to special circumstances.
