Hello, i am on the verge of bankruptcy and have afew hurdles i need to get over until im able to do it. i was wondering if you could point me in the right direction with the following:

1. my auntie (whom i live with) doesn't wish to have her adress on my forms for bankruptcy. i think this is due to the fact that she thinks this may, in some way stop her from gaining credit whilst she is at that adress in the future. i was thinking of moving into a hostel whilst my bankruptcy went through, then move back to my aunties. i know that id have to inform the official receiver of my move, but my aunts adress wouldn't appear in the local paper (another thing i think my aunt doesn't want). is this the easiest way around my problem??

2. i haven't kept upto date with my creditors for a very long time, as they have not got my current adress (although i do get the occasional letter form them). how would i get a upto date balance of all my account balances?? do i just send £2 to the credit agencies?? and will this service give me all the info i need for the bankruptcy forms??

3. could you tell me of any free services that could help me fill the forms out, as this seems quite a task in itself?? the CAB said they cannot help me due to the fact that they had opened a file some time ago to help me with my debt, but this has since been closed, and cannot be re-opened.

i hope all these have a simple answer, so i can start my life again! i wish to join the army, and cannot do it until this mess is sorted!

Many Thanks
Dan

Hi

1. You could do this but firstly you would have to be in the new address for a minimum 3 months and 1 day (the greater part of 6 months immediately prior to petitioning the court). The problem is if you read the insolvency list next time it is printed in your local paper it will also state "and recently residing at" and give your last address as well.

2 The credit report should show the current balances. On your forms you could enter your best estimate against each creditor and write "approx" in the same boxes.

3. I'm afraid apart from CAB I don't know of any free service that could help.
