well, having rung every day for 3 days to demand payment, hubby told hem for the second time today that we are BR, gave them OR office name, and our BR number and date. Thie response was
'ok, and can you make any payment today?'
Hubby told them that if we did, it'd be illegal, and it was illegal for them to ask. I doubt it'll stop them. They told him that if they'd received nohing from the OR in two weks, they'd know he's lying...
what a bunch of muppets.
As an aside, everyhting is fine. Havent really noticed much different. OR call is set for the 18th. |

The call centres are all the same - they have a script to run to and obviously can't cope with any deviations from it!
Mercers did the same with me when my IVA was accepted - I told them they couldn't contact me anymore - and they still asked for a payment!
Not too bright are they?
The glimmer gets brighter all the time

I had exactly the same problem with the Halifax, I must have received about 25 calls a day at one point, even though I had told them I was BR, on 2 seperate occasions I gave them all the details they needed but it made no difference, they still continued to hound me. I was so angry that I wrote them a very impolite letter and have now complained to the Financial Ombudsman, I really do not see why these dim-witted prats should get away with it, their tactics are no better than a loan shark. The reason I have have decided to take it further is because there must be many people who are facing bankruptcy who may not be in a strong frame of mind and to have these morons constantly hassling them could tip them over the edge and that is the reason I have complained.
Glad to see you are coping OK though. Sandie |

hi,
after i went bankrupt hsbc did the same to me, which was annoying i gotta say but i did this:
told the financial ombudsman, who was very nice and got the harrassment stopped.
answered their security questions wrongly so that was the end of the phonecall, though on 2 occasions the hsbc caller actually carried on with discussing the issues (very worrying i think).
told my friends what hsbc were doing and i know at least 2 of them changed their bank accounts once they heard what was going on.
