I became bunkrupt in September 2008. I have now been recommended for early discharge and it has gone to court. My monthly payments have been set since November but my tax code has still not been altered although the solicitors collecting thepayments think it should have been. Will it be changed eventually? Why is it taking so long for my tax code to be changed. Might it stay the same throughout the remaining period of my making payments after my discharge?

Hi

there are 2 types of IPA.
An NT tax code IPA which means you pay no tax until the end of the current tax year and an I&E tax code which lasts for 3 years based on your disposable income.

If your tax code has not changed it won't now as it would have to revert to norm at the end of this month in time for the new tax year.
