Hi, for calculation IPA/IPO's what earnings allowance is given for rent and food in a bankruptcy situation. This is where both parents are made bankrupt, both employed and providing and looking after 4 chidren, age 3 - 13.

Many thanks

Hi

£600 to £650 according to the latest guidelines, which are not that current to be honest, which the OR's examiner's work from.

Hi John

Thanks for your reply. Is that for rent? or food? Another advisor told me that rent would be calculated as about 40-45% of net income, in our case that would rent up to £1300/month. From another table I have calculated a food allowance of just under £800/month

Would that be right, or is this out?

Thanks
Olivia

Welcome to the forum.

Please see the following links from the Insolvency Service. Specifically to your query I have put in bold the ones for Income Payments Agreements and Income Payments Orders. Especially, please see the Household Expenditure Spreadsheet - You will need Microsoft Excel on your computer to open this document.

The amounts for rent are variable.
