Hi we opened a co-op savings account last month when we thought we were going to do an IVA.
Having now decided to go BR we will be opening a basic co-op account. The savings account we have just opened with them has not been used yet and has no money in it.
Will we have to tell the court about this account and if we do will this stop us from getting a basic account with the co-op.
Thanks Paul. I will list it. Would it be better if we just closed it now as our BR date is not untill the 29th April or will this make no difference in being able to open an account with the co-op
You may find that the Co-op close your savings account once you are BR. For some strange reason although they allow people who are BR to open a Cashminder account, they won't allow them to have a savings account with them.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
I suppose any savings will be looked on as an asset and as such could be taken by the OR for the creditors. Probaby a good thing you haven't got any savings in there yet.
