Can't believe I finally went through with after changing the appointment 3 times - kept putting if off. Now it's done and there's no going back. I did check through a bundle of old lottery tickets last night that I had been keeping but only won 6.40!!

Anyway it was a breeze, the hardest bit was waiting for the 3 hours that it took for the paperwork to be done. I did not have to see the judge either. Anyone worried about the court bit - don't be just take a good book with you! I would also recommend completing the forms online on the Insolvency website.

Had a 2 min call with the OR before I left the court and she was very nice. They will be sending me some paperwork and arranging the interview for about 2 weeks time so I will relax until then.

Phewwww!

congratulations... we done ours on monday, i cant believe how easy ours was.....we filled out the forms online, went to northampton crown court(no appointment needed, its now a drop in service) we were both terrified but the guy who took care of us was great....didnt have to see the judge, we were in and out in 50 minutes...and declared bankrupt this morning, now just the dreaded or to deal with.

So glad that both of you had a good experience, the courts are trying to streamline systems and it all seems to be for the better - 6 months ago everyone would have had to wait to go into see the Judge, which can be a rather worrying thought, though in the main it was still a rapid event, but just the thought made people worry unnecessarily.
Well done to both of you and here's looking forward to a debt free future for both of you.
The online forms are very good, but thankfully there is also the option of getting a hard copy from the court to complete by hand, as not everyone is comfortable completing data online - hopefully the opportunity for personal choice will remain in place
