I am self employed , will going bankrupt have any effect.

there is nothing to stop you continuing with your self employment - but you have to trade in the name under which you bankrupt

A friend of mine that went BR, had his company listed on the insolvency register....this may or may not affect your future trade.

if you are a director of alimited company you will have to cease directorship but if you are sole trader then apart from the restrictions whilst BR ie. no credit over £500 you should be fine
