Hi Darrylb
First of all welcome to the forum
I will depend on your personal situation, what assets you have etc.
may be bankrupcy is the best option, but there are other alternatives, have you taken expert advise?
One of the experts on the forum will come along soon.
Don't panic about your situation, you may be able too control what happens to a certain extent

All the best

Morninng darylb

business is a particularly difficult place to be now because of the recession and the credit availability.

In order to help and advise you fully we need to know a little more about the situation.

1. Is this a Ltd company, sole trader or partnership
2. what assets, liabilities are there in the business ( vans, stock, vehicles, overdrafts, personal guarantees etc etc )
3. what assets and liabilities do you have personally ( house, amount of equity, car, endowment overdrafts, loand credit cards etc)

4. what type of business do you own / run

5. if br is the right solution are you looking to stay in the same business afterwards or have a clean break.

depending upon the whole situation it may be possible to continue trading in business ane clear your debts but we need a little more infor first.

You should speak to some independent Insolvency Practitioners who will be able to advise you on your best options.

CCCS - http://www.cccs.co.uk/ are a good starting point as they are a charity based organisation.

Then there are a couple that post on this board that are well respected:

England Jackman & Spacey - http://www.ejands.co.uk/ (post a lot on this board)
Reviva UK - http://www.revivauk.com/ (also post a lot on this board)

Have a look at their websites and complete the 'Contact Me' option and someone will call you. It's best to have a few opinions and the initial advice from these companies won't cost you anything.
