Hi we were made BR on wednesday, we have not had our OR interview yet but on the application form after our basic out goings are paid we have about £30 excess. If this stays the same we will not get an IPO but i understand that it can change when the OR goes through your application.

What I want to know is I used to be a member of a gym and am wanting to join again. I can get a membership by DD for £15 per month. Do I have to wait until speaking to the OR to join as the gym membership is less than our excess income and if we do get an IPO that would mean that we have excess money that you can do with as you want anyway. So do I have to wait another couple of weeks till I have had interview or can I join now if we have the excess.

Thanks just dont want to get into trouble.

Mick

There is nothing to stop you joining a gym but unless you have an underlying medical condition requiring remedial gym work, you will not be able to receive an 'allowance' for your membership in you rincome & expenditure, providing you do not mind paying it out of your budget this should not pose a problem
