I hav been sent an IPOQ because i hav been put in for early discharge, when i originally declared bankrupt my income was £966 paid purely from benefits my outgoings were....
housekeeping £540
gas/elec £164.66
water £22
phone £51 PER MONTH FOR 2 ADULTS 2 CHILDREN
clothing £20
tv liscence £11.61
car insurance£22.35
car tax £9.58
petrol £80
general expe £45

I now recieve £1571.92 which includes DLA & C/A i am told that DLA & child benefit is not included which takes my total income to £1176.12
i am going to change my expenditure to...
housekeeping £600
gas/elec £165
water £40
phone £51
clothing £50
tv liscense £11.61
car insurance £22.35
car tax £9.58
petrol £120
hair £25
pets £10
general exp £71.58

do u think the above will be accetable?? the amount left is £395.80 which is the disability living allowance & child benefit surely it cant be taken from me as the DLA is for my son not myself ! i would appreciate some advice i am really stressed out

Well done on the ED :)

You will probably need to explain why things have changed from your original I&E. For example you originally had petrol at £80 but now £120. Do you have to travel more now?

Are the clothes for all 4 of you? If so the original £20 is way to low and so is £50. Normally you can have £40-£50 for one person.

Is that hair £25 just for you, if so £10 is the normal amount. I think the going rate is £10 per adult and £5 per child.

Do your children do any after school activities as these can be put on the form as well.

general exp £71.58 What is this for?

Put £150 for the clothes if it is for all 4 of you. I believe the guidelines for haircuts are £10 per adult and £5 per child.

I would also round up the figures to the full pound so the TV licence should be £12 rather than £11.61 and do the same for the car tax and insurance.

Forgot to mention that there are some guidelines in the following Excel spreadsheet - www.insolvency.gov.uk/DocumentLibrary/Policy/Excel/Household%20Expenditur.xls

Hi beau

all of the advice given by gettingoutofdebt is sound and you should adjust your figures accordingly. If I were you I would also add "Annual Domestic Break" (Not Holiday) to your list of expenditure claims and for the 4 of you you should request a monthly allowance of £80.

Thereby further safeguarding yourself from a possible IPA.

Also school meals (or packed lunches) are additional claims outside of housekeeping as are meals at work. If the children do have school meals then claim the true cost, if they have packed lunch set it at £1.50p per day per child.

And if you have any pets you are allowed £20 per month for their food.
