Hi All,

I have just been discharged after 6 months but i was told to expect a BRU/BRO because the OR said i had spent unneccesary money on a hoover, bed and kids winter clothes in the run up to BR. In all i spent a about one thousand, which was i'm afraid a small drop in the ocean to what i owed. Since the first OR interview i have heard nothing since about this BRU. Can i still get one even though i'm now discharged?

Thanks

Have you received a letter from the OR regarding the discharge? If you did have a BRU then you wouldn't have been discharged within 6 months so it doesn't look like the BRU was applied to you.

Normally the OR would advise you of a BRU and then paperwork would follow advising you of the BRU time. If you didn't receive this then you won't have had a BRU.

Hi

and looking at the reasoning behind the "threat" it was bull to suggest it in the first place.

Don't you just love these power crazy idiots that act as if it were their money you spent!!!

They have a job to do but nothing you purchased was anything but absolutely essential and a court would never have upheld an application for a BRO based on these facts. More likely the judge would have sent the OR dept away with a very very large flea in their ear for wasting yours and the courts time.

Of course your examiner will no doubt be aware of all of the above and took some kind of sick pleasure in watching you squirm anyway.

Makes my blood boil!!!!!

Thanks for your replies. I did think at the time that it was a bit petty to suggest a BRU but quite honestly i was so grateful to go BR that i would have gone along with anything.
Anyhow, i'm free to get on with life now, good luck to all those in the process.
