Confused very confused here, i have been made BR but i still trade as a soul trader, i have actually set up a partnership and set up a bank account but that is in my partners name only. MY question is this and it gets conflicting from people on here and what the OR has referd me 2 the NTB2 section 360 of insolvency act 1986. I called a local Solicitor today who looked into this section and he tells me that i can trade under a different name than what i was made bankrupt in..

I was trading as Example P Smith trading as AA Windows

i have asked on here can i change to P Smith trading as BB Windows but it appears there is so much confusion here???????????? my local solicitor tells me that within section 360 it states i can trade under the example BB Windows providing i disclose that i have changed trading name and did trade as AA Windows. What i would like is some 1 to confirm this for me please and once i disclose would i need to put on that letter i was made BR....???? Thanks all..... When read it tells me as long as i disclose what i was adjudged bankrupt in then there is no offence

Hi Hinfo
I do not Know the correct senario.
I am still trading as a sole trader,
I was told that I can only trade under my pevious Trading name,
I am in partnership with my Father who also has the same trading name.

Eg A smith T/A aa Plumbing
b Smith as aa Plumbing
I hope this will help
or I am sure an expert will correct me

All the best

So your saying you went bankrupt in example aa plumbing then formed a partnership and traded under a new name as long as you told everyone that would then safegaurd you..... Problem is the wording is confusing but i believe in the best interest that if i tell my customers that i went bankrupt as P Smith trading as AA windows but have now formed up BB windows that should be acceptable? HELP PLZ
