I went BR on May 5 and my accounts were frozen the next day, including the one my salary is paid into and that I use to live off. I opened the account prior to going bankrupt. It is a with Barclays who are not one of my creditors and have no connections with of them. I also do not owe Barclays any money.

On finding out that this account was frozen, I immediately notified my OR. She said that I was to go to my branch, open a cash account with them and get the fax number of their legal notices unit. The OR would then send a fax telling them she had no interest in this account. I opened the basic cash account, gave my OR the fax number and the OR faxed the instruction.

I left it for a day and then asked my OR what the outcome was. Her response was that she would not have known anything and that it was up to me to chase it up.

So I went back to the bank and they said that the account will remain closed until after all the direct debits were cleared and only then would they send me a cheque for the remainder. Unfortunately this will take two weeks!

When the account was frozen I had £8.50 in my pocket, unsurprisingly that has now all gone. I live on a week-to-week basis so I'm looking at the prospect of two weeks without funds for essential living expenses. Also, I travel to work by train (there is no other way) and my current weekly ticket expires today. So now I can't get to work tomorrow, and maybe not for the coming week (depending on how long this takes).

Sorry for the long message but I'm really starting to feel victimised and I'm beginning to panick!

My interview with the OR is on Wednesday.

Any adivice?
