The EDREV goes to the RTLU (or maybe the OR) and they contact your creditors to see if there are any objections to you being discharged early. If there aren't then you get an early discharge. This can take a couple of months to go through so keep an eye on the Insolvency Register as I don't think you are informed directly by the RTLU/OR.
You can get a certificate of discharge from the court you were declared BR in however it will cost you £60. I know Skippy has just printed off the Insolvency Register page showing her as discharged and I don't think anyone has queried it so you can try that and save a few pounds.
I don't know whether creditors usually object or not but if you have been on sick benefit ever since declaring BR then I don't see why they should object. I think they only normally object if they feel that there is a chance of someone who isn't paying an IPA increasing their income before they receive an automatic discharge and would then have an IPA so the creditors would be able to claim some money.
Gettingoutofdebt is right, all I did was print the entry from the insolvency register.
The only time I had a problem was when I tried to open a savings account with Sainsburys bank as they insisted on the official certificate. I didn't bother, and I'm glad I didn't because I later found out Sainsburys shred them as a matter of policy!
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
