The situation regarding the Statutory Demand never came to anything due to the company concerned having breached certain regulations.

However, in the event that they might decide to bankrupt me, is there any reason why I cannot transfer my share of the property (held jointly by myself and my husband), which is in mortgage to the Building Society, but has no arrears on it, to my grandchildren to be held in trust for them until they reach the age of majority?

I'm no legal expert, but to me this still sounds like a transaction at undervalue, and transfer of assets to connected parties can be overturned if done 5 years before the insolvency.
