Chances are they are pretty much the same as the other OR offices, which are generally fair although seem to crack down on expenses such as holidays if it will mean the DI is just below the £100 mark.
With things like rent, utility bills, petrol, public transport, car insurance, road tax, MoT they can't really argue with your amounts if you provide receipts and bills even if they think the amount is too high.
When is your interview? |

It will be fine. I have heard from people on another BR forum that have declared BR in Blackpool and they have all said that the OR was very fair and understanding. |

We were with the Blackpool office about 18 months ago, in my view they were not very fair at all with allowances, I suppose its the luck of the draw. We had a very inexperienced examiner and he told us certain things that were not true, eg, the length of time the NT code would apply, etc.
Our allowances were cut such as clothing and we were not allowed a holiday/domestic break fund. The OR tried to disallow optician costs and household insurance so they could get an IPA but we contested it and they dropped it in the end but it was a worrying time |

Hi,
My husband and I went bankrupt on 2nd July at Walsall and would normally have been dealt with by the Stoke OR. However they have told us because they have such a high volume of work that they are transferring our case to Blackpool. Any idea of how long it will take for them to get in touch with us as we have heard nothing at all yet and how long it usually takes between hearing from them and having the OR interview?
Thanks,
Poodle! |

I was transferred from liverpool office to Blackpool office,I got a letter off them 1week after I went bankrupt and had my interview 2 weeks after that.My interview was 5 weeks ago now, they were very nice and said I wouldn't get ipa, they did only allow me £420 for housekeeping for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, but other than that it was fine. Not heard anything from them since not sure if I'm supposed to or not. |
