It all depends on where you live and how their system works. For us it took 18 months but that was only because I wrote to them and got some extra points for medical reasons and luckily a house was available in the area we wanted. You should contact your local authority to see what the critera are for your area. Some areas are really overburdened and can take years. We were very lucky
