can anyone please explain in normal language what is now happening to me. i went BR on the 14/4/09 i have recieved a letter from the OR today to tell me they are transfering my file to the RTUL.having read some of the other posts it seems that this happens when you are discharged but i know this cannot be the case with me as its only been 2 months since my BR. does this mean that the OR have investigated and no longer are interested in me? i have no IPA and am in the process of sorting out paying my tax as i have a nil tax code. sorry if these questions seem a bit dumb but they dont make things easy to understand at times
When the OR transfers the file to the RTLU it means that they have completed their investigation into why you declared BR, how you got into the situation, whether you are eligible for an IPA, etc.
The OR has written their report, which has been accepted by her Manager and contacted the creditors to advise that you are BR and to check on the total amount of outstanding debt.
Chances are that you are not eligible for an IPA as this can take a bit of time to setup and may not be paying income tax at the moment although the OR may have contacted HMRC to sort out a NT tax code in case your circumstances changes before the end of the tax year.
Two months is very quick to have the case transferred to the RTLU but if it is straight forward with no assets, IPA, etc. then it looks like it can be done.
I don't think it is automatic that you get an ED once the RTLU take over but it is a good sign.
