What happens when you go to the court to declare your self bankrupt?

Each court can be slightly different but you will arrive at court with your completed SOA (3 copies) and the £510 BR fee. The BR clerk will check through the SOA's and you will sign then in front of the clerk and then hand over the money. In some courts you will go before the judge and he will just confirm that you understand the implications. In other courts you will just wait for a couple of hours until the judge has looked through the SOA and then you will be declared BR.

You will receive a copy of the BR certificate and then maybe have a quick chat with the OR and that's it.

After that the OR will contact you within a week or so to setup an interview date/time.
