SOA asks when did you first have difficulties. Someone said it is better to put a recent date. I have had the debt hanging over me for 9 years and the reason the house was repossessed was because I lost my job 3 times in 2 years and then was very ill and could not work. After the house was repossesed I got myeslf back on track now they are pursuing me like crazy for the shortfall and have issued an attacment of earnngs through the courts

All it is asking you for is a rough couple of sentances as to how and when you found yourself in the situation ie general build up of credit, increase in interest rates meant we were unable to meet commitments etc plus anything which may have led to this ie cut in income/hours birth/death/marriage/divorce just a few sentances not a life story.

Just elaborate slightly with what you have put ie when ill (year) when house repossesed (year) an it will be fine

our debt was hanging over us for years but we always seemed to find a way out really just making things worse.On my SOA i put Nov/dec 08.. we went bankrupt 27 feb 09 this is what i wrote in the box.. Nov/dec 08 is when i realised the severity of my debts. hope this helps

that does help, you just seen to get by and then something else happens, my um died and had to loan money from a friend to pay for her funeral which I am still paying back but i guess because this is not a debt with a creditor bank, credit card company i cant put this down as an essential outgoing

The loan to a friend is a debt and should be put on the SOA

Thanks for that, what about being a 2nd card holder on my mum-in- laws credit card and being a customer on her catalogue?? Would the OR still let me have some money to carry o paying that debt

Sorry i think you misunderstood my last post, When i say it does on the SOA, i mean section 4 under liabilities. You cannot pay it back after the bankrupcty
As for the creditcard and catalogue. You do not owe those debts but you do owe a debt to your mum in law
