Once I have had my day in court and have been declared BR how long is it before OR interview. I am thinking of declaring BR w/c 12th but have the use of a caravan in Brid (Free) for the whit week bank hol was wandering if this would be ok or should I time it differently.

Also do you have to ok all hols with OR whilst undischarged. Its my 40th this year and my gran is 80 she has paid for all the family to go away in July would I still be able to go on this.

The OR interview is usually within 2 weeks of the day you file for br. Some courts it is on the same day but this is becomming more rare.

Just make sure that you have a new bank account open before you go to court so that your salary & any benefits are psid into the correct account.

If your gran has paid for the holiday and it is a family afair then I am confident that this would be OK as it would have little monetary value for a complete strabger staying with the family.

Hi Paul-
are you sure about opening an account before you go to court- we were told by OR they had no probs with one of our cashcard acounts (the bank wasn't a creditor) and the bank said it would be OK but when we actually declared ourselves bankrupt they shut the account and so we had to open a new one anyway

You need to tell the bank you are going BR - make sure they know when you are going and that after BR you will use the account. Have it all ready so that it can be used post-BR. Then you won't be struggling to get at cash/pay bills etc.
Co-op cashminder is great.
I had just opened a basic cash card account with the Halifax the week before going BR but they closed it - some banks are not BR friendly!
