Hi Im thinking of going bankrupt, it seems like my only option. My only bank acc is joint with my husband who isnt going bankrupt. does anyone know what will happen to it? will they still freeze it and even if its joint could it still get closed down or will they just make me take my name off it? Thanks |

| I would advise that you get your name removed now before bankruptcy, although you may have a problem if there is an overdraft oweing on it, the bank would want this paid before they would remove your name |

hi Thanks for reply, I should have said that the account is already lloyds basic account with no overdaft or credit facilities and I dont owe them any money and it will not be included in the BR. Do you think this makes a difference? |

| it should be ok then but it is the bank who freeze accounts but if its only the basic one you should be ok and if you explain to your OR, I am sure it will be fine, you have to list all accounts on your SOA |

Personally I would open a new account in your name only as you risk the joint account being frozen as Lloyds seem to be quite inconsistent about BR.
The Co-op Cashminder account is highly recommended, and Barclays are also BR friendly.
