i am going to declare bancruptcy but ironically can't afford it!! do i have to pay unfront of can you pay in instalments?

You have to pay upfront. If you are on benefits you may be entitled to a reduction of £150 but you need to complete the following form:

Are you still paying your creditors? If so stop paying them and use the money to pay for your bankruptcy.

Some utility companies also assist people with the BR fee and the CAB will be able to assist you further.
