Posted - 28 May 2008 : 19:13:52 I recently filed for BR after spending 3 years making the decision!! I am due my interview with the OR on 23rd june and need to know what to do about my direct debits for my bills and rent etc..also my salary. I currently have two cashminder accounts, one is my main one which all my bills go out of and one is for my ex to pay maintenance into. I know these will probably ne frozen. I need to know how to ensure my bills are still paid etc. Do I... 1. Go to the CO-OP and explain things and ask their advice. Can i open a new account? 2. Change all my details over to ,my dads or daughters account prior to the interview so that everything gets paid?
I am absolutely petrified i fall behind or dont pay my rent unintentioanlly as i dont want to lose my tenancy!!
Please help :)

Went into the bank today and they have assured me that it wont be frozen as i have a good record with them. They put a note on the account to say I 'd been in etc and were really supportive:) Next hurdle OR interview 23rd June

Posted - 29 May 2008 : 09:40:01 Hi Km1 and welcome to the forum.
It is generally standard banking procedure to freeze all accounts following the advertisement by the OR in the London & Stubbs Gazettes. However, the OR can write to the bank to get this account(s) un-frozen. I would suggest talking to your bank and advising them of the situation.

Posted - 28 May 2008 : 20:09:01 Hi km1 - its the banks decision to freeze an account not the ORs. Fortunately Co-op are BR friendly so keep them informed and I am sure both accounts will be ok.
