This is a falling housing market at the moment, and if you have little or no equity you could have a third party buy the beneficial interest for £1 plus conveyancing costs of around £250.
If you default on the mortgage, with 3 months arrears the bank can apply for repossession and they do not have to give you 12 months grace.

Of course you can. Even the Official Reciever recognises that people deserve a break from work for a modest family holiday.

You will have the first year's grace to make alternative living arrangements, after which the Trustee can commence bankruptcy proceedings - but this is only likely if you have equity in your property.

Hi wildercrazy3 - welcome to the forum
One of the BR assist experts will be on line soon to advise you on this matter.
I'm afraid I didn't own a property when I went BR.
Hang in there - one will be online soon.
