Hi all

Ive read that it is quite hard to get a bank account afterwards. I have one bank account with Llyods TSC that I have
never went in debt with and has no overdraft on. Will I be able to keep this or not? thanks a lot!

Hi Feather,

It is standard practice for all banks to freeze accounts (on the publication of your BR in the London Gazette and the Stubbs Gazette) until they hear from the OR.

However, I have heard a few instances of people being allowed to keep their account in BR with prior agreement of the bank. As long as they are not one of your creditors, why not talk to them about it?

Regards

If you have a problem keeping your account, you could try opening a Barclays or Co-Op account after you have gone bankrupt. Hope it all goes well!

You may be able to keep the account, but it's at the discretion of the bank. I was allowed to keep my account with Lloyds, but other people haven't been able to. You would need to speak to your branch and see what they say.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
