Posted - 16 July 2008 : 17:51:24 Hello, I am currently facing bankruptcy and am living back at home with my parents, making nominal board payments of £50 per week for everything including food as I can't afford to do anything else. I have been asked to fill out expenditure forms for the trustee and taxman but I want to be able to move out of home into rented accomodation (with associated bills) How do I complete the expenditure listing if I have no current proof of expenditure? If I truthfully say that I currently only pay 200 a month for everything, I won't be able to move out on the allowance left over. Can the form be completed as if I would be seeking to move out? Thanks,

You should disclose your current expenditure, and advise the OR that you are only living with parents on a temporary basis and intend to move into your own place shortly. Provide them with a list of the costings of a rented flat, including bills, and I am sure that this will be acceptable - of course you do actually have to move to warrant having the additional expenditure allowed!
For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com |
