Posted - 01 March 2012 : 13:52:09 I have received a bill from the Council Tax, April 2005-2006, I was not living at the property on those dates. I asked the council to prove that I was there, they stated they had no evidence and I cannot prove this either. Now the council have stated they are going to take attachment of earnings from me. What am I supposed to do ?

Why do the Council think you were living in that particular property at the time? Do you have any evidence of your changed address after April 2006? Perhaps a bank statement or utility bill from another property? Unless you can prove that you were not at the property then unfrtunately I think you are going to have a struggle

Can you prove that you weren't there at that time?
