Posted - 25 November 2008 : 15:29:27 I am still getting the odd call from creditors chasing me for money and I have told them that I have gone bankrupt. Capital Collections are the worst. They have phoned me 3 times in 3 days only to tell me that I am in arrears and interest is still being charged. Will I be liable for interest still being charged when the creditor was included in my bankruptcy?. I am assuming not but just a thought.
Have not heard anything from OR office yet and had my interview on 4th November, I suppose they are very busy.
Anyone else had calls from creditors once they were bankrupt and what did you say? I have sent a copy of my bankruptcy order to some them to try and keep them quiet.

Posted - 25 November 2008 : 21:23:03 Debtrider is correct, if they know you are BR they cannot contact you (I think) I had a debt to Citifinancial and as soon as I told them I was BR they were really helpful, checked the insolvency website and said I would not be bothered again. I havnt been, (from them) |

Posted - 25 November 2008 : 19:54:48 Hello Nicola.j
Capital collections are different from capital one from what I can gather as they are chasing money for CITI Financial.
From what I understand from the experts, creditors cannot come after you when are bankrupt and these creditors should now channel all communications through the OR.

Posted - 25 November 2008 : 19:24:13 Hi
I had two credit cards with capital one and they were the same until they realised from the OR that I was bankrupt and then received a default dotice with very threatening paragraph saying that they could still come after me.

Posted - 25 November 2008 : 17:45:10 Hi Debtrider
I should imagine they are very busy at the moment so would wait until you hear from them.
I have not received any calls since sending a copy of my br certificate (day after br) with an enclosing letter to all my creditors. Maybe you could do that if you feel nervous etc. about calls/letters from them.

Posted - 25 November 2008 : 16:40:30 Hi Debtrider
It took about 2 months to stop the calls from creditors so bare with the OR whilst i know its annoying but at least you can quote your court ref and hopefully the creditors will back off once the OR writes to them which can take a few weeks to filter through to the right dept.
