There is also a self help site that you can use to do it yourself:

http://www.debthelpcharity.com/

It gives you all the information you need, together with template letters to send to your creditors.

If you do decide to go for a DMP then you can try to negotiate with your creditors and do a self managed DMP or if you get in touch with one of the debt charities they will negotiate for you and not charge for the privillage

Please make sure you get some professional advice from one of the debt charities on this.
Consumer Credit Counselling Service - Telephone: 0800 138 1111 http://www.cccs.co.uk/
National Debtline - Telephone: 0808 808 4000 http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/
Citizens Advice Bureau - http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/

Also Payplan will do free DMP's http://www.payplan.com/

Hi,

If you can get your creditors to agree, there is no reason why you can't do a debt management plan.

I suggest you have a word with them and see what they say.
