I think that you need to speak to the CAB regarding help from the utility companies.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

There are some utility companies who will help towards the BR fees. I can't remember what they are offhand, but I am sure that someone will be along to advise.

Otherwise, she will have to pay the full amount.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

This may be because she wasn't earning enough money to pay tax/NI. Also it may to back to the days when women were able to pay 1/2 stamp or something similar.

This happened to my mother. She has worked in low paid jobs for most of her life and back in the 70's she used to pay 1/2 stamp (NI) as women were able to do this then.

Every time she went to claim benefits she was told she hadn't paid enough NI so wasn't entitled to JSA. Luckily my father was able to support her and she was able to get another job pretty quickly.

Yes, if she is receiving benefits then she can complete EX160 for a rebate and I believe this means you only pay £350.

If she is not eligible for benefits and doesn't have any income then she should speak to the CAB to see if they are aware of any assistance that she may be entitled to.
