Posted - 31 August 2009 : 14:25:21 I use the COOP account and have had no probs at all with them, dont really have a problem with the debit card either as its been accepted everywhere I have used it, even tried it online at a few places that just say visa and not electron and its still went through ok.

Posted - 30 August 2009 : 13:27:05 I think you are very much in the minority Stu.
The majority of posters seem to find the Co-op to be an excellent bank.

Posted - 30 August 2009 : 12:57:30 While it's a pain that the internet banking doesn't update immediately mine updates in 3 days maximum, I've never had to wait a week. The excellent customer service and ethical policies of the bank more than make up for any inconveniences.
Stu, if you're really that unhappy with the Co-op why don't you just close the account and forget about them.

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 23:23:24 I think mine took about 2 weeks to recieve everything from them.
Was definitely worth the wait. Internet banking, although not updated very quickly still very good and Visa debit card which I have used in a shop, over the phone and on the internet with no problems.
I have a problem couple of weeks ago where my phone co took payment twice within a minute of each other coop stopped one of these payments as soon as I called them.

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 23:17:10 I still have the accounts with them just dont use them if they sort out the week to update internet banking when using a card, and either make the dressed electron card back too an electron card or follow suit with other basic accounts such as Lloyds, Barclays and coventry and offer the full visa debit card then I may go back, I dont rate them and dont think they are as ethical as they make out to be

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 16:11:10 Hi all
Just to say that in the 3 months I have had a Cashminder account, I have been very pleased with how I have been treated.
I would pursue your complaint Stu - I am sure they will respond - are you still with them?
regards, Richard

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 14:54:51 Yes I did and they never wrote back - not surprised! And when I asked on the phone about the Electron Dressed up card there response was its the retailers fault.

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 14:33:01 Stu, did you ever complain to the Co-op about their so called unethical policies?
You've moaned about them a lot and I was wondering if you'd done anything about it.

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 12:15:52 It is disgusting how long the coop make you wait, what do they need ten days for, another unethical policy from the coop me thinks

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 11:25:21 I waited about 10 days for the account to be functioning
They may be able to give you an account number if it has not come through and you need to set up arrangements for incomings and outgoings

Posted - 29 August 2009 : 08:33:07 I think around a week -10 days but cannot really remember What I did as I was desperate for an account number to get my salary paid in as they needed a lot of notice. I went to the main branch which was about 12 miles away. The coop does have a few around so you might have one somewhere ,took id proof and they got my account number and sort code. However it is likely to be a fair distance from you and a lot of faf so I 'd advise patience as it should come any time now. Have you rung up they may be able to 'track' where it is up to
