I was discharged from bankruptcy exactly 1 year ago and applied to a Vanquis card to repair my credit rating. I have been declined! Anyone else had this?

I'm surprised at that. Have you cleaned your credit files, and are you on the electoral register?

Hi Skippy

Unfortunately I can't clean up my credit files because I would have to declare where I am living and for safety reasons I can't tell them!!!!

I remember now. I don't really know of any way round it other than to wait for them to drop off your credit file 'naturally'.

I was also turned down for a Vanquis card but have managed to open a catalogue account, I have not cleaned up my credit files as I can't because I shredded all documents so have no account numbers, addresses, etc, even if I had the time or inclination to clean them up which I don't.

My accounts are still being defaulted every month so I don't see how they can ever drop off the files naturally, it is nearly 3 years now since I went bankrupt.
