Hi again me and hubby have a basic bank account with Barclays have no debt with them at all will we still need to open a new account should we inform barclays that we are filing for br in two weeks Arrh !! Its slowy getting closer and more realistic

no need to tell them yet, s long as it is the basic one then you should be ok, fingers crossed

If it is a basic bank account then it should be OK.

If in any doubt open a Co op Cashminder account prior to bankruptcy.
That will certainly be OK.

Hi,

I agree - the Co-op are really BR friendly and you can do most things with the account - direct debits have salaries, payments made into the account.

I opened a Co-op cashminder account and the bank have been great with me.

HI

Barclays have tobe informed, although they will find out about BR Anway, they shut all accounts down so you would need to go in a reopen it after BR, Thats what my branch manager told me anyway

I would ask your branch what their policy is. I was told by Lloyds that although they didn't generally allow undischarged BRs an account I would be able to keep mine.
