Hi All
I'd forgotten my old details so here I am as the Curlykid. I was declared BR back in April 2009 so have just been discharged - I have to say after the initial process of BR, which may seam scary - honestly its not so don't lose sleep or worry too much, life has been simple - only ever spoke to the OR once to change address and last week I called to check if I was DBR and they sent me a letter to confirm it.
Now I'm trying to work out how I get a normal account back and start rebuilding my credit rating (not so I can get credit) I need to open a business account to run a small shop I'm thinking of opening but al I'm being told is wait 6 years!!!
Who do I contact and where to get my info changed and how can I start building my file back up to a posative score???
Help if you can please...

Hi CK
congrats on DBR, welcome to the rest of a debt free life
prob best to have a look at skippys blog as this covers step to take to review of credit file.
building credit file will be challenging but start with mob tels, catelogues but what ever credit must be cleared each month to get the required tick in box.
will any one open a joint account with you ?

Hi Richrad,
Thanks for the feedback. I've taken a look at Skippys blog and picked up some good advice there - I have applied for a Vanquis card but got turned down??? Was just applying for a CashPlus card - I guess you dont get a credit check there but you pay for the privilage of using it...
I'll be writing to Experian, Eqifax and CallCredit - wonder if they'll accept my letter from the OR or do I need to get a certificate of discharge @ £60???

Hi ,
Natwest will not alter credit file without the 'certificate of discharge'

They must have changed their policy as they amended mine with a print out from the insolvency register.
If you do need a certificate of discharge you will need to apply to the court that made you BR and costs £60 plus £1 for each subsequent copy.

Hi All,
Thanks for the advise. I contacted Experian but found that you have to sign up with them to speak to anyone - since doing so I've been bombarded with calls for pre approved loans on my land line and mobile - B@$t@rds!!!
Anywho - I guess the best way is for me to write to the big 3 and ask for details to be updated - do I need to write to all my old creditors to???
Cheers
