Will OR take my Van if I have access to a car? My husband is/was self employed and needs his van to urn an income. As I understand it the OR allows you reasonable tools to do this, however if my husband has access to my estate car will the OR deem it that he can use my car and take the van which is worth around £7K - car was bought recently for £560!! My husband does house clearances and has been trading as an antiques dealer of large furniture for 25 years. thanks

they wont make him use your car, it is yours and so not looked at in the bankruptcy at all.

So that means all they are looking it your husband and he has 1 vehicle, the van. They might make him trade for a cheaper model but they should let him keep a van because it is necessary for his work

Hi

I agree with Debtinfo on the car/van situation.

Are you both looking at BR?

If your husband is and is/was an antique dealer, the OR may look a bit closer to see if you have "old masters" etc. Just be open and honest in all aspects.

Just my husband going BR. I was an employee so now unemployed and looking for work. He wants to be open and honest because he knows that his line of business has a bad reputation and he wants to get through this as quickly as poss. sadly no OM's - anyway he dealt very much at the lower end of the market - mainly victorian and edwardian stuff.
