I am a US citizen and may file for bankruptcy soon. My wife and I are planning on moving to the UK (she is a dual citizen) and I was wondering how this may affect my visa and affect building credit history in the UK.

Hi Tim

The conversation and lines of communication accross the pond are not always clear.

Uk & Europe have banking systems that talk to each other.

you may struggle as any other US citizen in building a credit history, if asked about bankruptcy you would have to declare the information.

I do not know how it would effect your Visa application.

you may have to get your timing correct for it all to run smoothly.
