Hi 3 dom

welcome to the forum, yes i know what you mean about head spinning prior to bankruptcy.

I had an expert (paul at reviva)help me, we opened a bank account with a bankruptcy friendly bank (Coop cashminder) about three months before court.

MY "Old bank" account was frozen on the day of the court.

amongst other advanced planning Paul had already helped me preplan bills , wages, shopping etc, so i am pleased to say it all went without a hitch

regards Richard

Hi thanks for getting back to me so soon, did you pay for this help? also isn't it deceiving the courts by opening another bank account before court? i hate all this i really wish there was another way but my only option is bankruptcy i went to see a family friend who is a solicitor and he's helped me with my forms but i get so worried and anxious once i go back home! the solicitor told me i talk to much and i give too much information away when asked a question but i cant help this and he has now got me worried about the OR call and also the last part of my SOA where you put why you cant pay your debts. i realise i haven't really asked a question here but i just need to know i'm doing everything right.

Hi 3dom

Yes i did,

No i declared my new bank account on my statement of affairs but it was a fresh account with no arrears.

yes we all talk toooo much when nervous or scared.

solicitors are experts at legal procedures but cover a vast area of expertise, try and speak to one of the experts on this forum, i think they all will provide the first phone call for free, it is is worth the call just to fully understand the process

regards Richard

oh so i can also open another account for use after the bankruptcy? will it get frozen or will it be left if i specify that it was set up just before? none of my current accounts have arrears anyway but am scared in case they are frozen and payments get missed or money doesn't get paid in to pay the bills! so many if, whys and whats i feel like i'm going round in circles sometimes

One of the first things that the OR will ask you is if you want an account left open to have your wages paid into, You just tell them about the new account and they will write to the bank saying they have no objection
