can you go for bankruptcy if you are in a dept management plan?

If you feel that you cannot afford to continue with your DMP and that bankruptcy is your better option, there is nothing to stop you filing your own petition in bankruptcy. I would advice though that if you make the decision that bankruptcy is the route for you, let the DMP company know and cease payments. (Be prepared they may try to dissuade you from leaving the DMP - if you think Bankruptcy is the route for you, stick to your decision. I cannot tell you whether or not it is the right decision as I do not know your full personal details) The money you are presently paying to the DMP can help fund your bankruptcy petition (£600)
