Don't worry. U are not a criminal! I set my dining table up with my br forms and any other papers I thought may be relevant (statements etc) I also had a notepad and pen with questions I wanted to ask and any notes I would take during the call. All they do is ask questions about your situation and how it happened. They are not expecting a pound for pound run down ( I had several credit cards which I used for day to day living and I just told them that) most important of all is to be honest.
If there is anything to hide they will find it. So be honest. They will not undo br and if they think u have in some way been reckless (gambling etc) they may issue a bankruptcy restriction which extends the conditions of your br. But I'm sure u will be fine. Just stay calm, focused and honest. Oh and make sure u get their email add as it's very helpful for any questions u may have. Good luck mate. |

The OR's interview isn't anything to worry about. They will go over your list of creditors, how you got into your current financial situation and your I&E. Have the SOA forms in front of you during the telephone call as the OR may refer to these.
The call will probably last less than an hour and you will feel much better once it is all over. |

Hi guys
Well had my call with the OR this morning. Was just as bad as I thought it would be. The lady on the phone wasn't very helpful and I felt like she was trying to catch me out at times. I was honest with her and when i couldn't remember why i had taken loans out and what I had spent it on I told her this.
She did say that she was concerned that I had taken out a payday loan and Provident loan after my IVA had been issued and I shouldn't have taken out any further credit and this meant I had breached my IVA. I explained that I know this and have been very foolish. I am worried now that they may ask me to pay this money back, even though I dont have a job. Can they do this? What is the worst that can happen?
At the end of the interview she said that she would pass the information onto the OR (I thought she was the OR) and a letter would be sent out to my creditors. They may contact me again if they need any more information. I am a little concerned as to what further information they would require as I have given them all the information I have.
She was quite brief about what happens next and that BR lasts 12 months but I may be discharged earlier.
What happens from here? Do I need to do anything else? Do I just sit and wait?
Any advice is appreciated. |

You sound like a bit of a worrier.
Im sure it cant have been that bad
As to feeling that she was trying to catch you out, that is because she was, that is their job, they will often ask the same thing from several different angles to see if you give the same answer. Remember that they are investigating the bankruptcy and that there are some people out there that are not honest and do have something to hide, They are the people that they are looking for, not you, but they have to ask the same questions to seperate these people out.
You wont have to pay back the money, it is something that they would consider wrongdoing and could in theory ask for a BRO. Usually Provident loans are small and as long as you havent used any ither credit after the IVA then it far more likely they they will just say, no early discharge (ie a bit wrong but nothing to serious)
Dont worry about the further information, it is standard that they say this at the end to everyone to remind you that if something comes up that they want to ask you about then you still have a duty to co-operate
You just sit and wait or alternatively just get on with your live, if they want anything they will let you know
BTW There is only one OR at each office who is like a figurehead and has the final say within the office on any matters, The person that interviews is an examiner and you will also have a administation clerk assigned to your case |

The 12 months is from the date you went to court
Yes you can open a bank account
Co-op cashminder and barclays basic are good for bankrupts

| You should have received an envelope a couple of days after the bankruptcy with a letter about your interview, forms NTB2 and TNIDIS and some booklets for you to read |

Hi lush & Simon
please do not panic about the OR meeting as long as you have been as upfront and honest as possible on your petition,
the OR likes to check to make certain that the information on your petition is the same as you are saying on the phone or during interview.
Have your initial petition in front of you, a big glass of water and cup of drink.
Then relax the best you can adn discuss your situation with them.
yes they do ask you to complete a couple of booklets and form or sign to show that you understand your responsibilities as a bankrupt
good luck to both
