My understanding is that undiscerning BRs cannot be a director of a company that is registered in England & Wales in which case you could set up a company in another country but someone else may have more information regarding this.
The Company Director's Disqualification Act refers only to companies incorporated in Great Britain, or companies incorporated elsewhere which have a place of business in Great Britain.
