I have only being living in my current address for the last 4 months do I have to live there for 6 months before I can apply to my local court for bankrupcty ?

Is your new address in the same area as the old one or have you moved to a different area?

You need to apply to the court for the area that you have been living in for "the majority of the last 6 months" so you apply from your current address.

double check with the court though because not all courts process bankruptcy petitions.

Paul's right, not all courts deal with BR - my local court didn't. Have a look on www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/HMCSCourtFinder to find your local court.

Regarding your address, the you will need to put down the address that you are currently living at, and all addresses for the last 3 (I think) years.
