Do Utility companies run credit checks?

My husband and I have managed to secure a new rental property prior to going BR (which we are planning for late September). The letting Agent has said that he will organise the changing of names on the utilities for when we move in (which will be after we have declared BR).

My question is therefore, are the new utility companies likely to run a credit check on us - so is the letting Agent likely to find out about our BR through this route?

the only utility company i know of that 100% does not use credit checks is a company called utlity warehouse.
we regulary have clients who use them and are really satified with their services.

Even when others are at their lowest ebb, it is possible to help them restore their self-belief by keeping a firm, clear vision of their goodness and specialities. Taking a gently encouraging approach, I must never give up on anyone.”
